About

Katerina graduated in 2012 with a Decorative Arts degree from Nottingham Trent University. She founded her studio in Loughborough the same year and has continued exploring her fascination with fused, blown, cast, toughened and more recently stained glass. She exhibits at shows and exhibitions across the UK and works can be found in galleries near and far with upcoming exhibitions displayed on her Instagram account.

Year on year she overcomes the limitations of her chosen medium and explores how she can further her skill set, growing and evolving her range. Striped Vessels are her signature range and one of the collections she has continued to develop since establishing the range at university. They were created purely through experimentation during the second year where Katerina became fascinated by The Roll Up technique; a process which allows fused glass artists to transfer their medium into the blown glass world. This highly involved process has taken Katerina on a creative journey, a fine balance of science and art, to create the final works. Once much smaller, they now reach over forty centimetres tall and are real statement pieces.

More recently, Katerina has been exploring toughened glass, UV bonding this material with kiln-formed pieces and creating bespoke coffee tables, sculptures, wall art and corporate commissions. The clarity of these works has stimulated the development of further ideas currently being explored.

The repetitive process and unpredictable nature of her chosen material fascinates Katerina, encouraging her to push the boundaries, ensuring no two pieces are the same as they are very much handmade from start to finish.
